Setting Intentions

Setting intentions for the new year is a great way to focus your energy and create a roadmap for the year ahead. Here are a few steps you can take to set intentions for the new year:

  1. Reflect on the past year: Take some time to think about the past year and what you learned from it. What were your successes and challenges? What did you enjoy and what do you want to change?

  2. Identify your values: Consider what is most important to you in life. Your values will inform your intentions and help you make decisions that are in alignment with what matters most to you.

  3. Set specific and achievable goals: Think about what you want to accomplish in the new year and be specific. Instead of setting a goal to "exercise more," set a goal to "exercise three times a week." Make sure your goals are achievable, so you can feel a sense of accomplishment when you reach them.

  4. Create a plan: Break your goals down into smaller, actionable steps. This will make it easier to stay on track and make progress towards your intentions.

  5. Share your intentions with others: Consider sharing your intentions with a friend, family member, or a professional accountability coach. Having someone to check in with can help you stay motivated and on track.

  6. Practice self-compassion: It's important to be kind to yourself as you work towards your intentions. Remember that setbacks are normal and it's okay to make mistakes. Celebrate your progress and be gentle with yourself when things don't go as planned.
