Stuart Stock-Tucker, AMFT
Back in 2019, I started my journey with a Bachelor of Arts in Recreational Therapy, a step that sparked my interest in helping people through therapeutic practices. This interest only grew stronger as I pursued and completed my graduate degree in Counseling Psychology in 2023. This wasn't just more education for me; it was about diving deeper into the complex world of human behavior and mental wellness.
For ten years, I had the privilege of working with adults with developmental disabilities. This wasn't just a job; it was where I learned the true meaning of empathy, patience, and how to adapt to meet people where they are. This experience shaped my approach to therapy, teaching me the importance of compassion and recognizing everyone's unique journey.
Moving into the mental health field, I've spent the last four years connecting with and supporting people through various challenges, from addiction and substance issues to navigating LGBTQ+ matters, and managing anxiety, depression, and trauma among others.
Now, as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe in a therapy approach that's as varied as the people I meet. Whether it's through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, or Motivational Interviewing (MI), I see therapy as a chance to create a space where people don't just face their challenges but find a way to flourish.
